If you include the log file I might be able to tell you the issue you're having.
To get to the log file, click on the start button, all programs, GearCity Open Beta, and click the GearCity Data Folder.
Inside this folder should be logfile.log, you can upload it here to the forums by hitting the "add reply" button, then attachments toward the bottom of the screen.
