[FIXED]GearCity won't start.
#1
I've installed GearCity, yet it keeps telling me the application is configured incorrectly. I have installed all the extras, so can I have some help?

I'm running XP SP2, that may be a little problem.

Can you take a screenshot of the error it is giving you?
Also check to see if there is a logfile.log in your My Documents/VENT/GearCity folder.

I wrote the game in XP64, so that shouldn't be a problem, but if your video card doesn't support that game, that may be an issue.

Here's the screenshot, no logfile however.

P.S: I've reinstalled thrice, redownloaded once.

Try installing this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...px?id=5638

It should be bundled with the installer, perhaps it messes up while installing?

What is the system specs of the computer?

Yeah, I've noticed the C++ Redistributable has been a little funny.

Anyway, my system specs are:
CPU: Pentium M 1.73 Ghz.
GPU: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600
RAM: 1.5GB

Are they good enough?

Should be more than enough.

The game scales down pretty well.

Anyhoo seems like your issue has to do will runtime libs, if the file above does not work, please let me know, I'll have you run dependency walker.

Was it installing Visual C++ that helped in your case?

Yes it was, it seemed that the installer bundled with GC was borked.
