It looks like the New Generation and Replace button in the Refit Old Designs window does not actually schedule a replacement. If it does schedule one then the scores of the car is staying exactly the same.

No timer starts running in the menu on the right once clicked.

The new factory system should not allow for model replacement. If I recall, these buttons should be hidden.

Ah, that would explain why it didn't work. The button does not seem to be hidden.
