post WW2 sales potential Bug or skill issue (2nd Gear)
#1
I've played Gear city for a while, then got access to the second gear DLC. I would play just as I have before. I know many things are different from the base game. Early game is exactly like as before, big sales making big money. 1930s suck for everyone. (a global depression will do that) 1942 comes around I do my patriotic duty for Uncle Sam. Make even bigger profits, then after WW2 is when everything goes bad. No matter what vehicle I try to make only 1000-2000 will buy it. For example, I could make a sedan that's for the middle class. that is decent for the cost which is around 800 to produce. I then sell for about 1600-1700 If this was the base game I'd sell 10s of thousands of them. But in 2nd gear, damn near nothing. Instead of making millions I lose millions. So I am unsure if this is a bug in some career settings or if I just suck and don't know what mechanic is doing it that was changed or added in the DLC.

You didn't give me a specific design to look at. Also a save pre-ww2 would be helpful too.

Looking at your "Falkland" model, in Baltimore there are around 35 other sedans for sale in the area? Your model is in the middle when it comes to sales reported in the buyer rating chart. Even though your buyer rating is quite low.

I'm showing 2674 units sold. 2437 used units sold. And 9 models not shipping anything (though they will still be getting back order sales.) I am not in my office right now, so I can't use my tools to see how many units this is.

So let's say around 2800-3000 units Sedans are being sold in Baltimore each month. Those numbers might be a little bit low for post war US, but they're not too far off.

Looking at your buyer's rating, you take a 25% drop for not having customer financing. That would also hurt the sales of your vehicle. Your overall vehicle rating is also quite low. The top selling cars are in the 80s, your car is in the 60s. The same is true with other ratings as well.

If you have a copy of your 1930s save to show me the difference in sales. That would be helpful. But beyond that. I'd say it's competition. Lots of it.

So it's just as simple as more competition? I guess rating matters a lot more in 2nd gear. It seemed almost impossible that the competition has such highly-rated cars with low prices. I just don't know how they can have such high rating cars for so low. It's almost like they are cheating. Also I can't finance yet, It's not available yet. The 30s I know will suck in sales because of the depression.

I ran a GearCity Classic game to the same turn as you and summed up the total Sedan sales, it's 2649 not including lost sales. Compared to 2674 in your save game.

Sales haven't declined.

Things are more expensive, and you can't charge as much in 2nd Gear. The game is a bit harder than the Class Game. And as I mentioned before, your buyer rating is a bit behind. Remember, there is no ratings cap in 2nd Gear and sub-components also have skill ratings. All those factor in now.
