While we are supporting Linux for the retail release the beta is currently not built for these systems.
Building a native GearCity in Linux would take approximately a week. Time devoted to early native builds would reduce progress on the core game. As such we need to gauge demand for a Linux beta client.
Please be advised that GearCity 0.8 Beta works perfectly fine in WINE 1.5.24-1, with libopenal installed, and we are 100% sure GearCity will launch with a native linux installer.
