Vehicle Engine Contracts

Can anyone provide some information on about what i'm doing wrong with these kind of contracts?

Here's what they wanted:

And what i designed:

Locomotive Engine

And even if i offer this engine at 1501$ (Production costs 1500$) they decline it.

I failed to make a cheaper version with stats anywhere near of what they asked.

Pft... i tested the savegame downwards from 3199$ to 1501$ multiple times... all declined. Been away from the pc for like 30min and now got the contract for 1999$...

So it's the time you're away from the keyboard i guess :p

I'll be adding a memo stating why you lost the contract hopefully for 1.18.2. I believe it's in my tickets.

Anyhoo there is some random factor in it. Sometimes the contractors will choose a non-automotive company to do the work for them. We don't simulate train companies in the game, but they do exist in our world.
