[FIXED]Selling a company

I acquired a company and then sold it off. I was left with it's branches and factory, whilst the buyer gained the brand and the intellectual rights to the car designs. What I was surprised by was that I was left with the company's gearbox, chassis and engine designs. Is this right, or should they (like the car designs) have also passed to the new owners?
