Demo Crashes - Does the Steam also?
Posted by: WolveNZ - 11-01-2015, 12:22 AM - Forum: Archive: General Discussion - Replies (22)

Hi,

Ive downloaded the demo of GearCity, everything goes pretty smoothly - can design chassis/engine/gearbox/vehicles.

But, thats about it, normally the game crashes when I click on something normal, but ive never gotten any further.

The question is, is the steam early access more stable than the demo?

Running Windows 10 if that means anything

I am currently working to translate the Italian version. But alone is an enterprise !!
I have a question....How do I set the date for the European format? (dd-mm-yyyy)

  Windows 10

I updated one of my machines to Windows 10 and found that I had to run GearCity as an administrator in order for it to work on that machine.
I just wanted to post something in case anyone else ran into the same issue.

  Great game!
Posted by: Fieldmouse - 09-04-2015, 08:43 AM - Forum: Archive: General Discussion - Replies (2)

This is a game that gives that "i cant wait to get home from work"-feeling. I just wanted to say that this is a great game, even though its not finished. Eric seems to be active here on the forums which is also pretty great! Smile
I was actually thinking about doing a detroit remake myself, simply because I really liked playing it, but hated the bad and buggy business simulation it had.
But you have created something that goes beyond all hopes ^^ Great job, man! biggrin
Gonna spend my weekend selling cheap cars Smile

  Apple version
Posted by: kircbaum - 08-06-2015, 06:00 AM - Forum: Archive: General Discussion - Replies (22)

Hello.

I would very much like to try this game. I've spent many hours with Motor City and this looks like the perfect successor to that game.

The problem is that I am using Apple. On the webpage there is an apple at the bottom and it says there will be a mac version but on Steam the only options are Windows or Steam OS.

Is a mac version in development? When is this version expected? If it's far away I may consider installing dual systems on my computer but I rather not go through the hazel of doing that.

Looking forward to try the game!

Best regards

Why does the cost, per unit, of engine increase on redesign?
Posted by: Kanaric - 07-31-2015, 06:38 PM - Forum: Archive: General Discussion - Replies (3)

I designed an engine and wanted to make another engine based on it immediately (no variables have changed) and when I hit redesign the cost is over $200 more expensive per unit. Is there any reason why this is? Like should I be designing engines from scratch each and every time? It seems that's what the implication is.

The power figures are different as well. Something must be changing on the redesign
